Resumen
The purpose of this document is to develop a methodological model for monitoring and evaluating the social and academic impact of higher education graduates in Colombia. Its importance is based on the manifest need that HEIs have to follow a form of protocol to achieve the institutional goal, related to maintaining excellent training quality and complying with the legal requirements imposed by the Ministry of National Education for the accreditation of programs and institutions. Although the background of a methodological development comes from models presented at the international, Latin American and local levels. It is known that for some national universities this factor became effective when the National Accreditation Council issued the basic lines for the accreditation of programs, and the Ministry of Education made its contribution to raise quality levels. The framework of reference for research development are the characteristics, peculiarities, importance and effectiveness of models such as ANECA, FINEEC, CIEES, CNA, ACAB.
The scope of the developed proposal reaches the support of quality, because it builds a way to harmonize the vision of the graduate with the mission of HEIs, in a universal and not particular way, from the Quality Assurance System. In addition, it takes the international and national concept of quality to offer a general vision that can be adapted by each HEI respecting its autonomy. As it is a qualitative research, its scope starts from knowing the characteristics of the follow-up of postgraduate graduates of HEIs in the country to expose data of central tendency and dispersion. It seeks to create a constructivist phenomenological type that describes the subjective representations that manifest when the model is applied. As a contribution, it enhances the comprehensive evaluation that HEIs must carry out to continuously improve academic programs and attention to their graduates, taking continuous monitoring as a reference.
Due to the nature of the study, it can be said that it is a mixed investigation, which contemplates description and explanation to specify properties, characteristics and profiles of the graduates. It integrates the techniques: documentary, quantitative, and qualitative, taking into account that it reviews the impact. The development of the analysis implies specific variables, and statistics to refer to laws, principles and general guidelines. The tool used is perspective and characterization based on assigned variables of personal and professional attributes. From the model, a generalized survey is proposed for all HEIs that voluntarily use the methodology that was developed.
The meaning for the researcher's field of work is to create knowledge about the importance of institutional control in favor of optimizing the training quality and the improvement of the professional capacity of the graduates. In the same way, it is to contribute to the interest of creating a competitive profile both nationally and internationally, due to the possibility of spreading knowledge at a universal level as an effect of globalization. It seeks to provide the design of a model based on elements that allow the construction of a paradigm of the reality that is observed.
