Resumen
The sociology of gender explores scenarios that seek to reflect on and transform existing inequalities between men and women. This subfield of sociology, together with the social sciences and musicology, have evidenced a gender bias that is present in several spaces, the field of music and music festivals are an example of this. Therefore, this degree project seeks to analyze the social representation of gender in the inclusion and participation of women in planning, bands and attendees who participate in the Rock al Parque festival in the years 2016-2020.
This study is based on two theories: on the one hand, social representations and, on the other, gender, these complement each other to create the social representations of gender as a central category of analysis. This research is based on an approach from feminist epistemologies that show the importance of women in the production and creation of knowledge. The investigative instruments (survey, semi-structured interviews and content analysis), oriented from a mixed methodology, allow us to delve into the problem raised. Likewise, the analysis of the results is divided into three parts: the first, historically describes how women have been included in the Rock al Parque festival; the second, delves into the experience of the women attending and artists who have participated in the festival. Finally, a critical look is generated at Rock al Parque's strategies based on the dialogue between the institutions and the perception of women.
