The knowledge of the world that surrounds us from the point of view of the Colombian child constitutes the main point of analysis of the present text. In order to reach this great goal, it is necessary to review beforehand the factors that influence children's activity, the vision that adults have of that same reality, the integrated action that both educators and parents can develop around the child, the integration of sciences at a pre-school level, children's creativity and the technological advance of our environment.
But, in addition to all these aspects contemplated in the text, the work suggests a teaching task of immersion in the socio-cultural context, of research in the area of children's knowledge in each of the regions of the country, where we hope a radical change will take place at the pre-school level, together with the help of the community and the different child and family care centers.
This joint work of institution, family and educators in the search for knowledge and child development, is proposed throughout the book, through a series of practical activities that complement the theoretical content, in terms of the development of the child in the face of the reality that surrounds him, the contribution of the adult and the integration of science and different disciplines at the preschool level.
It is expected, with these contents, to present the educator with a guide of his daily work in order to contribute to a favorable change in our community.
