The cornea is the previous, transparent portion, of the external cover of the eye; it is thinner central. The cornea has a refractive capacity, which constitutes it as the refractive principal element of the eye. For it, apart from the transparency, it will have to support a few refractive curved regular and smooth surfaces close to the physical integrity, without losing his actions biomecánicas, biochemical, and physiological . In case of the ectasias, where the corneous alteration sympathetic on all the caps of the corneous anatomy; and they qualify depending on his location in the frontal plane of the còrnea. One groups to the corneous deformations in congenital [Keratoconus and pellucid marginal Degeneration] and the acquired ones [Postkeratorefractive corneal ectasia]. The Queratoglobus is a corneous not inflammatory ectasia; the anomaly leads the protrusion of the cornea in the shape of globe, with increase of the corneous curvature appearance of astigmatism and decrease of the visual keenness. The Aim of the investigation is to determine the prevalencia of corneal ectasia corneous in patients to whom they Saint Thomas carried out corneous topography type Pentacam in the clinic of optometry of the University in the period 2009 2013, for this a study will realize observational descriptively retrospectively not comparative. The method to develop the investigation was carried out realizing a retrospective review of the clinical histories of the patients who from the year 2009 have been present at the Clinic of Optometry of the University Santo Tomas Floridablanca Santander, to there realize the examination of corneous topography by the Oculus Pentacam to reject corneous pathology. The study will be realized taking the records of the database of the Pentacam. Results: The prevalence of corneal ectasia as topographic indices taken into account is low, because many ectasias diagnosed as all normal pattern topographic data rates.
