The Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) are improving their quality management systems, aligning themselves with the current legal regulations to obtain an importance at the educational and institutional level that makes them visible to the community for providing excellence in education; that is why the intention of this article is to determine the convergence of the ISO 21001: 2018 standard and the CESU agreement 002 of 2020 to facilitate that IHEs can establish a single quality management model that is aimed at obtaining the accreditation of high quality and the certification of the ISO standard in two ways, therefore this research corresponds to an exploratory literature review, as the main result it was found that common procedures such as self-assessment, the development of audits, the unification of the documentation of characteristics, requirements and actors would be simplified and it is concluded that the twelve factors of the CESU agreement 002 of 2020 converge in a systemic way in the PDCA cycle of the ISO 21001: 2018 standard. The research is of the exploratory information collection type, as the main result it was found that common procedures such as self-assessment, the development of audits, the unification of the documentation of characteristics, requirements and actors would be simplified and it is concluded that the twelve factors of the CESU agreement 002 of 2020 converge in a systemic way in the PDCA cycle of the ISO 21001: 2018 standard.
