This proposal is aimed at addressing one of the environmental problems that is currently being presented and is related to the management of solid waste. Its inadequate treatment and ignorance regarding its classification, separation and use, is one of the causes that has led to the deterioration of nature and with it the destruction of the resources that it offers us. The Beltranista educational community is not the exception to this situation, especially students who, even knowing the effects of bad environmental habits, do not have a sense of belonging and are not aware of the future consequences of a bad management of nature; Hence, it is necessary to promote an environmental culture that contributes to improving the quality of the environment; That is why the approach and development of this project is based on the question: How to generate an environmental culture in the proper management of solid waste in fourth grade students of the Franciscan school of San Luis Beltrán in the city of Santa Marta? , for which a qualitative approach was carried out with an action research; in which the researcher had the opportunity to enter the field of study and analyze the relationships that the subject has with his environment from the experiences lived with it. At first, the observation and interview were taken as instruments for the collection of information, necessary to identify the knowledge and practices that students have about solid waste; These were the starting point for the elaboration of strategies aimed at fourth grade children and described through a classroom project called "Reciclandolearning", which led to environmental awareness and therefore, the fulfillment of the objective of this research and it is to generate an environmental culture from the proper management of waste.
