Resumen
Considering the importance that has been taking over the years the search for substitutes for materials that have some polluting effect through different types of research and tests, in order to be able to implement alternatives that counteract the pollution problem for which The world is currently going through, the main objective of this project is to determine the compressive strength that a concrete mixture would obtain by replacing part of its cementing material with crushed and calcined egg shells in portions of 10%, 20%, 30% and 35% through the respective tests that are carried out on the cylindrical samples in the laboratory, in order to know their viability and concisely propose the use of this type of unconventional material in the concrete mixtures that are used today. nowadays for the use of architectural furniture, emphasizing the fact that a comparison is made of the results obtained Compared to an average strength of a traditional concrete sample of 21 MPa or 3000 PSI.
For this reason, through a process of collecting the materials and aggregates, the samples are made in compliance with the provisions of the INVIAS standards for aggregates and INCONTEC for the production of cylinders, mentioning that the eggshells are They undergo crushing and calcination processes to obtain a material suitable for replacing cement, allowing a correct adherence between the other materials at the time of mixing. Once the cylinders are obtained and they are failed through the compression tests in the laboratory of the Santo Tomas University, it can be ensured that the cylinder of 10% replacement of eggshells obtained the closest resistance to 21 MPa, therefore, a new alternative is generated to use in any type of architectural furniture use that requires concrete through a material focused on sustainability, giving it a better use and with the possibility of being implemented not only in Tunja but in any part of the world.
