Ni aceptados ni incluidos: impactos socioeconómicos y culturales de la migración venezolana en Colombia

Abstract

The political and economic crisis that Venezuela is experiencing has generated a massive migration of the Venezuelan population to different parts of the world. One of the destinations with the greatest impact thanks to the migratory phenomenon has been Colombia due to its proximity to the country. Part of this reality will be narrated through a radio documentary that aims to expose the social and cultural tensions that have arisen on account of the migratory phenomenon. Among them, this investigation will mainly realize the cultural changes that migration has brought to the Colombian population. Xenophobic manifestations, their causes, and their expressions, will be one of the main focuses of this investigation. Additionally, the changes that Colombia has faced since the end of 2015, a critical moment in the political and economic situation of the neighboring country, will be disclosed in greater depth.

The radio product of this research will be a means to contribute to the social and cultural transformation of the population since the auditory narratives, due to their wide distribution and easy access, function as an informative instrument of a problem in which we are all involved, enabling thus a change in individual and collective behavior and even promoting a state response to more equitable and fair public policies.
