Internationalization opportunities for pupunha (Bactris gasipaes) Vaupes department, is a research that had as general objective to determine the opportunity to internationalize production in the Pupunha Vaupes (Bractis gasipaes) in domestic and international markets, to achieve the socio - economic development of indigenous communities in the Department, specific objectives identify the organoleptic, nutritional, medicinal, physicochemical and consumption Pupunha properties; determine their productivity; describe their production conditions; identify potential products to produce and identify possible buyers pupunha abroad. To achieve these gains were surveyed and interviewed farmers, indigenous communities and officials in the region; applying a descriptive research and the mixed method (qualitative and quantitative mildly). Getting to know it is a palm that grows naturally in the Department, of which it has extra output for domestic consumption to lead the domestic market, thanks to the cultures that exist in the plots of indigenous communities. Has its own ways of producing and transforming it according to their culture, the most widespread products flour, chicha, concentrates for animals; Flour being a product suitable for the market by reaching up to one year stored product. The nutritional properties make it attractive for countries like Canada, the United States, Japan, Germany and Switzerland, among others, as potential buyers considering its per capita income and the awareness of its people in terms of health care and the reception with Colombian exotic fruits; in addition to the support provided to vulnerable communities who need to improve their income. The Colombian State has the support of the International Labor Organization in its Green Jobs Program to generate proposals to support sustainable development of Vaupes; This is reflected in the government program of the Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture. The continuity of this research can be achieved through the support of the University of St. Thomas, who is interested in improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable communities.
