Theft, an offense that is constantly growing in major cities, needs to be studied scientifically and to be a behavior is psychology a science called to study it so it was planned and executed this research sought know whether there are differences in values, social and family status among young people convicted of theft and those who have not stolen located in the city of Ibague, the first admitted to the juvenile reformatory Luis Alberto Rengifo Polytechnic Ibague and the second population of the city. The work was done from the area of Criminological Psychology, was conducted with the quantitative method and the design of comparative. The instrument used was the Valanti values test and a structured interview. The results and analysis of these let you know that there are significant differences in the values righteousness, peace and non violence when they are determined by aspects of family status as models of theft in the family, type of family and childhood maltreatment, under the elements of the social condition there were no significant differences in values among young people who have been stealing and those who have not.
