Resumen
Chromium is an element used in the metallurgical industry to produce alloys with a glossy finish, in the manufacture of colored glass, in the chemical industry for the manufacture of oxidants and catalysts and in the processing of leather. The latter applications have aqueous residues with appreciable Cr6 + contents that in many cases are irresponsibly discharged contaminating water sources 12 In this work juices of "cashew" (Anarcadium occidentale) and "noni" (Moringa citrifolia) will be used chemically to Cr6 + present in polluted waters to make Cr3 + a less harmful species for the environment 12,13. In the first stage a
Chromatographic method for the determination of vitamin C in the juices of 32 fruits available in the Colombian market using a primary standard of L-ascorbic acid; It was subsequently analyzed by high efficiency liquid chromatography, HPLC. Fruit juices with high Vitamin C content and not appreciated for their organoleptic properties were selected for the study of the reaction between fruit juices and Cr6 + ions in aqueous solution, by an ultraviolet visible spectrophotometry analysis. Then, he conducted a study of the behavior of aqueous solutions with chromium using the juice of the two fruits with the highest vitamin C content. Both cashew juice (Anarcadium
occidentale) and noni (Moringa citrifolia) contain (0.920–1.219) mg / mL respectively, were chemically reduced Cr6 + to Cr3 + as evidenced by UV-Vis analysis.
