Resumen
This project seeks to implement a business model for the management of inorganic waste, through the collection and use of inorganic solid waste, produced by the inhabitants of the city of Tunja.
Despite the incipient efforts of the cleaning company Servitunja, which is the entity in charge of collecting waste and cleaning the city streets, and which has implemented different recycling campaigns to solve this problem, these programs have not been clear and adequate for the population, which results in citizens quickly losing interest and not performing operations properly, thus fostering a society without a civic culture and without hope of solving this situation, resulting in one of the greatest hardships of modern cities, since it implements inappropriate disposal models for the collection of waste in homes, offices and institutions in the capital of Boyacá. (Leguizamon, 1999)
It starts from the identification of the need for a rational management of inorganic waste in the city, since the environmental problems that the capital of Boyacá has been increasing, such as the increase in the population and its production and consumption patterns that have degraded the environmental scene of the city and its surroundings. Such is the case of the Pirgua landfill, which in recent years has exceeded its predicted capacity, generating complications for waste storage, since it no longer has enough space and is close to the city of Tunja. (CORPORACIÓN AUTÓNOMA REGIONAL DE BOYACA, 2014) However, the Tunja garbage collection company "Servitunja" proceeds to store all commercial and domestic waste in a homogeneous manner, mixing them with each other, to the extent that they were not properly classified in a large number of homes and businesses. This has generated an increase in the waste deposited in the sanitary landfill, while the great effort made by some populations of the city (neighborhoods of the city such as Los Cristales, Santa Inés and Canapro) and companies or entities (Makro, Sure, ITEDRIS, SENA, some workshops and dealerships, etc.) with their colored containers, but the old custom of throwing all kinds of waste generated inside the houses in a single package is still maintained in the vast majority of Tunja homes. themselves, which is why there are very few cases in which an effective process for the use of solid waste is verified.
