Resumen
The Warrior Arorradial Stimulus (WAS) optotype is an innovation for visual acuity (VA) acquisition, based on a directional design, whose configuration allows to obtain selective responses and control of false positives through radially directed or non-directed neutral stimuli (target stimuli). The objective of the study was to determine the psychometric properties of the GSD optotype in patients of the Clínica de Optometría Integral (COI) of the Universidad Santo Tomás during the second semester of 2018 and the first semester of 2019, by means of a quantitative observational study of evaluation of diagnostic tests applied to 50 patients with ages of 18 to 39 years.
The responses analyzed under Stata revealed a poor concordance between the GSD and Landolt's C, but good reproducibility in takes 1 and 2 with the GSD and a very good re-test correlation, indicating a strong relationship between variables. With respect to the target stimulus, it generated difficulty in perception as the stimulus decreased in size; according to the results obtained when evaluating the GSD optotype, the concordance between this optotype and Landolt's C optotype confirmed the perceptibility of the distracting stimulus (target). In the evaluations with the GSD optotype the most frequent refractive defect was hyperopia and the AV category was 20/20 (0. 0 LogMar) with Landolt's C, with the GSD a difference of one line was found between tests, that is 20/25 (0. 1 LogMar) most frequent visual category, with the contribution of the ‘diana’ optotype, the Hypothesis is reaffirmed, of ‘Propiedades psicométricas del optotipo’ EAG 10 a confusion that requires of greater perceptive and exact capacity, without stopping filtering the associativity and correlation of the form.
