Resumen
In this study, a bibliometric analysis is applied to the topic of virtual platforms for higher education, work and business in a period of time from 2009 to 2019, seeking to evaluate trends, evolution and characteristics from the accelerated incorporation of the virtual to the necessary relationship between the face-to-face and the "online".
Keywords: Bibliometrics, Virtual Platform, digital learning, Blended Learning, Educational Model. By defining a series of structural type indicators, it was possible to identify the path traveled by the authors and their research on the subject, managing to represent the structure of the field and evaluate the level of integration between both educational and training models; First, the structural approach was defined to define the type of bibliometric indicators given the characteristics and thematic order. Subsequently, the relationship between virtual platforms and education models was found through the concept of "blended learning" and its sub-disciplines. A bibliometric analysis was then carried out to describe the particularities of the publications in this period of time and to investigate the trends in collaboration, production, co-authorship and productivity. The results reveal an increase in production and collaboration over time, although there is an inequality in the co-authorship index. The structural approach allowed the identification of research ramifications with differential levels of integration and diversity of topics. These findings confirm the continuity and emergence of new research on practice in an interdisciplinary field, which encourages the integration of education and training models with virtuality.
