Resumen
The following pathology study is directed to a building for office use called Centum Business Building, located in the city of Bogotá, locality No. 12 of Barrios Unidos. The building has 3 basements and 20 stories high, with an approximate construction area of 27,200 m2 on a 2,084m2 lot, the structure of the building is conventional type in reinforced concrete with spans between columns no greater than 10m in length. The patient presents pathological symptoms in the basement areas, with affectations in plates and screen walls (barretes). The patient presents chemical, mechanical, physical and biological affectations, which compromise the integrity of the structural elements in the basement areas, for which a detailed on-site inspection was carried out on each element to determine its degree of affectation. Elements such as bars affected by collapse, compromise the stability of the structure, as they are elements that receive and transmit the loads of the building to the foundation, elements such as screen walls that present effects such as section reduction and filtration problems can generate failure, as the bearing capacity is reduced.
