Resumen
The proper use of the different means of communication and information with the help of new technologies that reinforce the pedagogical practice in human beings is an important and necessary tool for the development of a more complete learning. Objective: The objective of this research is to evaluate the knowledge of schoolchildren in the third and fifth grades of elementary school of colegio ecológico de Floridablanca- valle de Ruitoque sede “J”. Before and after planning a communicative educational action plan, in matters related to oral health. Methodology: This observational descriptive study includes 75 students between 8 and 12 years of age at colegio ecológico de Floridablanca- valle de Ruitoque who receive a communicative education program in oral health and assessed the level of knowledge through the application of surveys before and after the educational program. Once collected the information of the first survey, it was transferred to tables of Excel in duplicate so as to prepare their respective validation and initial processing; Having the results of the second intervention proceeded to create the second Excel sheet in order to perform the general statistical processing. Statistical data were entered using the McNemar chi square test, the Friedman test, the Wilcoxon Sign Test, the Fisher Exact Test, and the Range Test, as well as statistical packages such as stata / MP version 14.0. The study was governed by Resolution No. 008430 of October 4, 1993 and the Law 23 of 1982 of copyright. Results: When comparing the results of the surveys before and after the intervention, it was obtained that the bleeding of the gums, only 30.6% of the students had knowledge on this subject before, whereas after this the percentage increased to a 86.4%. Only 10% of the children had knowledge about the role of fluoride prior to the intervention of researchers after this, this knowledge increased to 80%. Also, 60% knew the foods that cause damage to the teeth, after the educational intervention, 94.4% of the students reached
an adequate knowledge about this item. Conclusions: After applying the survey after the development of the communicative educational program, in subjects related to oral health, it was possible to evidence an improvement change in the knowledge evaluated in schoolchildren. There was a marked difference in most subjects.
