Resumen
The Sustainable Rural Housing Module is an architectural project aimed at strengthen the identity and to provide well-being to the rural population of the department of Boyacá. It consists in a housing scheme in which the conformation and distribution of spaces responds to the requirements of rural housing, in order to solve the specific needs of the rural dwellers - having in mind that the spaces and their operation in rural housing are very different from those of urban housing spaces- as well as to recover some traditional elements of thecountryside constructions that have been lost over time. The characteristic features of this project are the bioclimatic design (since thermal comfort is a significant housing design indicator), the harnessing of natural resources (such as the use of solar energy through solar panels, or the collection and distribution of rainwater) and the use of typical materials from ancestral constructions (such as adobe and bahareque), elements that makes of this proposal an environmentally sustainable project and, at the same time, makes theconstruction housing costs more affordable.
