Resumen
Particulate matter is one of the most studied atmospheric pollutants in the world, due to the effect it has on air quality. Its presence in the atmosphere causes a variety of negative impacts on the environment and human health; This material is emitted into the air as a product of anthropic activities associated with mobile sources due to the use of diesel as fuel, but it can also be attributed to emissions from industrial stationary sources and buildings (IDEAM, Contaminación Atmosférica, 2016).
The present work aims to provide information on the state of air quality in relation to particulate matter in two sectors of the city of Bucaramanga, el Club de Comercio e Intercambiador Puerta del Sol during the 2018 car-free day campaigns. In this sense, the content of heavy metals such as copper, cadmium and zinc was analyzed using atomic absorption spectroscopy, implementing the EPA-I0 3.2 method of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA EU, 1999), in order to evaluate the impact of them.
