Resumen
The constant violation of women's rights is the pretext for analyzing the role played
by the Colombian Constitutional Court in protecting these rights over the last fifteen
years. This review is based on a selection of rulings that will provide a glimpse of the
mechanisms and tools that Colombia's main legal body has established to protect
women as special subjects of rights, and thus measure its normative and
jurisprudential progress.
In the same vein, a reflection will be presented on some of the existing national and
international legal resources that have helped in the protection of women, and the
creation of laws and jurisprudence.
Therefore, the intention of this article is to offer a timeline that starts in the early
1930s in Colombia, and begins many years ago in the world with international
conventions that enacted actions to prevent and eradicate any form of violence
against women in order to identify what progress has been made
