The Cabildo Mayor Indígena de Chigorodó is a special public entity that legally represents the indigenous communities of Chigorodó, exercising authority and carrying out administrative, economic, legislative and jurisdictional functions recognized by law, in accordance with Embera customs and customs.
The Yaberaradó and Polines reservations are indigenous territories belonging to the Embera ethnic group, located in the Serranía de Abibe, a strategic area of Urabá in the Department of Antioquia, in the sector comprising the Municipality of Chigorodó with an area of 12,124 and 2,885 ha respectively . The Yaberaradó reservation has 49.37% of its territorial extension in the municipality of Chigorodó, 14.72% in the municipality of Mutatá (Antioquia), and the remaining 35.91% is in the municipality of Tierralta in the department of Córdoba. For its part, Polines is located in its entirety, in the municipality of Chigorodó in the department of Antioquia.
