Resumen
The research group inquired about gyneco-obstetric violence, a not very visible problem that causes physical and emotional aggression. This violence has become a social phenomenon that affects the sexual and reproductive rights of pregnant women and has direct consequences on the health of the mother and the baby. This type of violence can occur regardless of religious, cultural or generational distinctions, and is characterized by mistreatment by medical personnel and, in some cases, by unnecessary medical procedures, such as induced labor, cesarean sections and unjustified administration of drugs that may induce labor.
This research starts from the premise of a lack of knowledge on the part of the public opinion about this problem, therefore the general objective will be to denounce, through a journalistic product, the existence of gynecological-obstetric violence against women of strata 1, 2 and 3 in the city of Bogota. It also seeks to show the different ways in which this phenomenon can be presented, to enrich the investigative panorama on this type of violence and promote awareness about it.
This will be carried out starting, initially, from the hypothesis raised in this research group: The silence of the victims who have suffered gynecological-obstetric violence is due to the lack of knowledge about the adequate process of the practices during the development of gestation, since the medical personnel do not provide enough information. In addition to the fact that there is no legislation in Colombia regarding this type of violence.
The methodology proposed is of a mixed nature, since it is intended to integrate the quantitative and qualitative part, through tools such as surveys, interviews and testimonies, which allow an analysis and a clearer perception of this problem.
