Resumen
The main purpose of this research is to determine if there is an association between chronic pain, quality of life and full attention, in a group of older adults, belonging to a psychosocial care center in the municipality of Chiquinquirá Boyacá, from a correlational methodological scope, where the sample is composed of 70 participants chosen through non-probabilistic or targeted type sampling.
The instruments administered to measure the variables were the McGill questionnaire, the SF-36 questionnaire and the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MASS), given that they allow knowing the rates of chronic pain, quality of life and mindfulness, respectively.
For the analysis of results, the Pearson correlation test was used, which corresponds to a parametric type analysis, given that the variables to be analyzed behave in a normal manner, the sample exceeds 30 participants, and the variables are scalar., obtaining as a result the association between the different variables.
Finally, the results indicate that, from the statistical analysis, variables such as chronic pain and mindfulness obtained a Pearson correlation of -0.46, revealing an inversely proportional association between the variables; as well as; chronic pain and quality of life, resulting in a Pearson correlation -0.41; On the other hand, the quality of life and mindfulness variables resulted in a Pearson correlation of +0.33, reflecting a directly proportional relationship between these variables.
Keywords: Elderly, quality of life; Chronic pain and mindfulness.
