Resumen
The study presents the application of a didactic strategy that takes advantage of the natural environment of an educational institution, to improve motivation and academic performance in the area of natural sciences, using a mixed methodology. We worked with two groups in order to verify the efficiency of the strategy through a comparison. During the qualitative phase, interviews were carried out, showing that students are pleased with the practices that are developed, however they show wide interest in new methodologies, especially those that directly involve them in their learning process, the data obtained from the quantitative phase They show that favorable results are tilted by a large percentage towards the experimental group, showing that innovative and contextualized strategies favor academic processes in students, showing that innovative and contextualized strategies favor academic processes in students.
