The main objective of this degree project is the study and analysis
of a drip irrigation system for olive crops fed by means of
photovoltaic solar panels at the Olivanto farm in Villa de Leyva, Colombia and in
a plot of Tacna, Peru. It is intended to show the technical implications and
viability, as well as the advantages and disadvantages that it would bring to the owner of a farm
implement a system like the one proposed.
It began with the determination of the areas where the system is proposed, having
take into account that the environmental conditions are favorable for the development of the
cultivation, in addition to meeting the solar radiation requirements for the
photovoltaic system. Then the extension of the land was determined having
take into account the number of trees, the spacing between them, the place where
they would find the water reservoirs and the place to position the solar panels.
Then the analysis for the drip irrigation system continued,
determining the amount of water needed for each plant, the need
monthly for each crop, necessary elements such as hose, drippers, filters,
valves, solar pumps and other necessary elements in the irrigation system.
Subsequently, the design and analysis of the photovoltaic system capable of
feed the water extraction pumps for irrigation, taking into account the
solar radiation for each area and weather conditions (rains). With the final purpose
knowing the load to supply, the solar panels needed and determining the
elements that make up the photovoltaic system.
Finally, the feasibility study shows aspects such as advantages and
disadvantages, approximate costs and feasibility, benefits of using energies
renewable and technified irrigation systems in olive crops.
