Resumen
The objective of this article is to carry out an interdisciplinary conversation between Freudian psychoanalysis and figurative sociology founded by Elias, having as a basis for analysis the subject of the civilization process. To achieve this purpose, the first step consisted of locating the historical and social context that led Sigmund Freud and Norbert Elias to place this subject at the center of their theoretical reflections, specifically, those exposed in the texts The discomfort in culture and The civilization process, this context being the interregnum between the First and Second World War. Subsequently, the epistemological approaches used by these authors to interpret their social world were brought into relation, a fact that opened the interdisciplinary discussion earlier than planned, as Friedrich Nietzsche's genealogy found a bridge of encounter between Freud's hermeneutical historical approach and Elias' genetic history. Finally, the texts were approached through the establishment of common categories from Freudian psychoanalysis, through which agreements and disagreements were identified between their theoretical reflections, an exercise that enriched the subject's understanding of the civilizing process and with it, the proposed discussion
