Resumen
Objective: To identify the processes of social exclusion around the dynamics of consumption of imitation brands in a group of inhabitants of a commercial sector of Mosquera Cundinamarca. Methodology: The research approach is qualitative, the consumption of imitation was taken as a reference with respect to fashion that somehow gives an interpretation to social exclusion. The data collection was based on the experiences, life stories and meanings of the interviewees, it was handled as a data collection technique: The in-depth interview. Results: The concept of Imitation Brand that the inhabitants of Mosquera have was identified, in addition it was possible to know how imitation serves as an intermediary to achieve acceptance in their social environment, taking into account that exclusion is generated with this behavior. In addition, these behaviors shape the identity of each individual.
