Resumen
The musculoskeletal system is made up of different structures, such as bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. Muscles cause loads and stresses on bone clusters by using them as levers to generate body movement, and these also help control the biological mechanisms that determine bone strength. However, in children this resistance depends largely on the increase in muscle strength and how the bones respond. For a long time it has been established that training with external loads in children and prepubertal subjects exerts effects on the bones by acting directly on the bone cells, generating in turn effects on muscle strength, which is why weight training has been established as one of the effective ways to generate early stimulation and seek the development of physical capacities, both conditional and coordinative. The objective of this monograph is to present the effects of weight training on musculoskeletal development in children and pre-puberty. For this, a bibliographic search was carried out on scientific articles published in the databases PubMed, Medline and ScienceDirect and several titles were selected between the period (2000-2020), which allowed obtaining in-depth information from the literature directly related to the objective of study of this monograph. From this research, in the end it was concluded that weight training at an early age is favorable for musculoskeletal development and the development of their physical capacities when these loads are applied correctly, taking into account the individual conditions of each subject
