O trabalho aborda o problema dos espaços restritivos, físicos e institucionais, ligados ao processo de expansão urbana no território do Distrito Federal, particularmente na região da localidade de Sobradinho. O trabalho apresenta de forma sintética como os vários planos diretores do Distrito Federal trataram a questão dos territórios impróprios para a urbanização. A pesquisa faz uma investigação detalhada na Região Administrativa de Sobradinho (RA - V) mostrando as restrições físicas e institucionais e os conflitos existentes no processo real de ocupação deste território. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis work presents the issue of restrictive physical and institutional spaces, related to the process of urban expansion in the territory of Federal District of Brazil (DF). It also deals with the way the several territory of plan of Federal District approached the matter of inappropriate territories for urbanization, in a straight forward way. The research brings a detailed investigation on the Administrative Region of Sobradinho (RA – V) showing the physical and institutional restrictions and the conflicts concerned to the real process of occupation of this territory.
