Oportunidades comerciales para el sector colombiano del cacao y sus derivados en el marco de la Alianza del Pacifico

The central objective of this paper work is to describe the commercial opportunities for the sector of the Colombian cocoa and it's derivative, through the method of descriptive research are met with these objectives. First, it describes the current state of the sector both globally and locally, where it is found that there has been an increase in the demand for cocoa, driven by the Asian market. In Colombia this is a non-traditional crop that has had a constant growth in the last 5 years. Second, the competing countries for Colombia in the cocoa sector and its derivatives are analyzed in the framework of the Pacific Alliance, Peru and Colombia are the only countries in the block that produce Fine Flavour Cocoa, Mexico for its part, produces conventional cocoa. Finally, opportunities are established for the cocoa sector in the markets of the Pacific Alliance memebers. The obtaining of this information was released by primary sources like ProColombia, the Productive Transformation program, Pacific Alliance and field investigations released by Swisscontact Foundation, to mention some of them as for secondary sources like La Republica and Portafolio newspapers.
