Resumen
The main aim of this work is to analyze the competitiveness of the Colombian flowering sector and to determine the factors that make it the second most competitive in the global market. To obtaining this purpose, Esser Klaus's theoretical framework of systemic competitiveness was applied, supported by the documentary research method that represents a systematic process of research, collection, organization, analysis and interpretation of information.
The results show that the competitiveness of the Colombian flowering sector is determined by the meso and macro levels. The first stands out for excellent geographical conditions, great flower diversification, a very well-structured sector value chain and the support of public and private entities.
The second highlights the country's good macroeconomic management, which has given it recognition from international agencies, a situation that translates into stimulus for the consolidation of the flowering sector at the international level.
Yet, an important aspect in which the meta level must be improved is, because its results in the security, future orientation of government and transparency/corruption aspects create distrust of entrepreneurs.
Likewise, to support the competitiveness of the Colombian flowering sector, its positioning at the international level was analyzed through the behavior of its exports.
