dc.description.abstractThe present article is the result of a research carried out in the framework of the specialization in pedagogy of the Augustinian University, to help solve the problem of desertion that has been evidenced in the Telecommunications Engineering program, due to the difficulty in learning basic concepts of communication systems. The research is qualitative and was carried out with a social critical approach, using an ethnographic method to characterize the student population through the implementation of two surveys. To help solve this problem, the design of a course was proposed by being sensitive to the students' perceptions and their learning styles, without ignoring the stages of their cognitive processes. Through these perceptions and learning styles, the topics to be covered in the course and the technological tools on which it will be based were selected
