The objective of this work was to contribute to the multi-scale design applied to microencapsulation of mineral oil by interfacial polymerization. Hence, we wanted to find the relationship between a process variable (speed of emulsification), texture and particle size in the production of mineral oil microcapsules. For that reason, the formulation and the conditions of the process were standardized. Once this achieved, the existing relationship between particle size and texture was defined as a function of the rate of the speed of emulsification. The results showed that the base speed for the formation of microcapsules was 10,500 rpm using the rotor-stator homogenizer. Polymerization of the microcapsules was achieved by adding 0.3 mL of Ethylenediamine (EDA) and 1 mL of Hexamethylene Diisocyanate (HDI). The sizes of the capsules oscillated between 10 and 20 {mi}m. In addition, there was no clear or significant effect of the variation of the speed on the pH. Finally, the particle size and the texture of the membrane of the microcapsules showed an inversely proportional relationship to the speed of emulsification.
