Una forma nueva para estudiar la presencia o ausencia de singularidad fue expuesto, y varios resultados fueron obtenidos One of the outstanding problems in the early cosmology, is the intriguing singularity that appears in the standard models. This gets reflected in the zero value of the cosmic scale parameter on the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker metric. Such singularity is a problem since the Kretschmann invariant goes to infinity as the scale factor goes to zero, showing that the singularity is not due to a choice of the coordinate system, but an essential feature. The bulk of the work done in this dissertation is the showcase of a series of alternative models to the standard cosmology, which give rise to the big bounce and other non-singular universes. We probed into different cosmological models which avoid this singularity, and often replace it with a bounce where the minimum value of the cosmic scale factor is bigger than zero. The models which we considered in this work where; Standard cosmology, Einstein-Cartan theory of gravity, Milne & McCrea universes and Viscous cosmologies. After probing into each one of them, we were able to find non-singular behaviour under various constrictions. These were commonly dependant on the curvature, the cosmological constant, and other parameters introduced in the theories. A novel approach to study the presence or absence of singularity is presented, and various results were obtained
