dc.description.abstractLa infidelidad es un fenómeno que lo pueden vivir todas las personas en cualquier etapa de la vida. Sin embargo, a veces no sé consideran las consecuencias que conlleva una infidelidad y cómo se puede realizar el proceso de recuperación después de esa experiencia. Por esta razón, esta tesis pretendió realizar un estudio cualitativo sobre la infidelidad y el proceso de recuperación en personas que se encuentran en la adultez emergente (18 a 29 años) en Bogotá. Se contó con seis participantes (3 hombres y 3 mujeres) a los cuales se les realizó una entrevista semiestructurada. Esta entrevista estuvo basada en el Inventario del Crecimiento Postraumático, Las Escalas de Competencia Romántica, Centralidad del Evento, Confianza en Relaciones Cercanas y de Recuperación después de la Infidelidad. Se codificaron las transcripciones en el programa Nvivo 12 y se empleó un análisis temático para identificar patrones dentro de la información recibida. Se encontró que la experiencia de recuperación puede presentarse de una manera única entre cada individuo. La forma en la que los participantes percibían su relación, su pareja y a sí mismos cambió drásticamente y, este proceso de recuperación, en la mayoría de los casos, inició con un estado emocional depresivo y con múltiples preguntas sobre el porqué de la infidelidad. El apoyo de familiares, amigos, la motivación y actitud de los participantes fueron determinantes para el desarrollo y progreso del proceso de recuperación.
