El presente artículo de revisión documental, denota la importancia de la terapia del juego en el desarrollo de la relación terapéutica, con niños y niñas víctimas de maltrato infantil. En él se describen las diferentes formas de maltrato infantil según la OMS y la OPS, las estadísticas del maltrato infantil en el contexto Colombiano, y la importancia de la terapia del juego en la relación terapéutica. A su vez, concluye que el maltrato infantil ha estado presente en la historia de la humanidad, actualmente esta problemática genera amplias consecuencias negativas a corto y largo plazo en las distintas esferas del desarrollo de los niños y niñas, e interfiere en la salud mental en la edad adulta. Así mismo, se menciona la importancia de la Terapia del juego en el escenario terapéutico y las técnicas aplicadas desde el enfoque cognitivo conductual. Para finalizar, se considera pertinente que la terapia cognitivo conductual sea ajustada al niño y no el niño a la terapia, y se sugiere a los investigadores e instituciones analistas del comportamiento humano que profundicen y generen más estudios sobre la importancia de la terapia del juego en el desarrollo de la relación terapéutica en atención de niños y niñas víctimas de maltrato infantil. / Abstract : This documentary review article denotes the importance of play therapy in the development of the therapeutic relationship with children who are victims of child abuse. It describes the different forms of child abuse according to the OMS and OPS, the statistics of child abuse in the Colombian context, and the importance of play therapy in the therapeutic relationship. At the same time, it concludes that child abuse has been present in the history of humanity, currently this problem generates extensive negative consequences in the short and long term in the different spheres of development of boys and girls, and interferes with mental health in children. Adulthood. Likewise, the importance of Game Therapy in the therapeutic scenario and the techniques applied from the cognitive behavioral approach are mentioned. To conclude, it is considered pertinent that cognitive behavioral therapy be adjusted to the child and not the child to the therapy, and it is suggested that researchers and institutions that analyze human behavior deepen and generate more studies on the importance of game therapy in the development of the therapeutic relationship in the care of children victims of child abuse.
