This applied research work consolidates a series of methodologies used for risk management, formulated as the uncertainty that negatively affects the activities, processes, projects or objectives of companies dedicated to the operation of electrical infrastructure, mainly oriented to the distribution and commercialization of energy in Colombia -- At the same time, it intends to incorporate elements identified in the most recent updates of international risk management models and standards to provide a tool that solves in a practical and comprehensive manner the difficulties for control and decision making, on the part of its leaders, in front of the most important uncertainty factors in this type of companies -- To achieve the proposed objectives, current management methodologies for different types and situations of risk are identified, the most recognized management models are explored, and methodologies are integrated into the most critical stages of their process, such as: identification, the analysis and assessment of risk levels, in such a way that a single assessment tool is formulated that facilitates the definition of mitigation actions and their subsequent monitoring for decision making -- For this, a methodological research was carried out through secondary sources, bibliographic databases, and the integration of methodologies commonly used in the sector based on the experience acquired in several companies of this type, and meetings with officials related to the theme
