Resumen
The motivation of this work is to find new evidence linked to the possible existence of a resource curse, with the objective of verifying if there are different effects of exports of agricultural, mining and hydrocarbon products on long-term economic growth. For this purpose, we propose the analysis through an empirical model in order to identify what type of resource export generates a greater impact on economic activity. For this, a GMM dynamic panel model was carried out, analyzing 185 countries in the last 30 years. The main result of this model is that we do not find evidence that supports the theory of a resource curse, but we do find positive effects of commodity exports on growth. However, these effects are not robust.
