Prejuicios y estereotipos en relación con la discriminación respecto a estudiantes becados de la Universidad Eafit de Medellín

Abstract

Discrimination is a latent phenomenon in humanity, likewise, within university contexts; Therefore, the present research aims to identify some prejudices and stereotypes in relation to discrimination against students who carry out their studies with scholarships at the EAFIT University, in the city of Medellín, as well as to know the characteristics and features of this phenomenon, and subjectivities in relation to discrimination and scholarship students. It is presented as a qualitative study, for which an individual semi-structured interview was carried out with eight students of the institution. The data analysis was carried out using the phenomenological method, taking into account the three specific objectives. In the research it was possible to verify how, from the experience of some students, there appear to be various stereotypes and prejudices within the EAFIT University that could influence the appearance of discrimination phenomena.
