La verdad de la literatura segu¿n Plato¿n. La peculiar correspondencia entre los niveles literal y no-literal de una obra poe¿tica

Abstract

En este trabajo me propongo reconstruir el tratamiento plato¿nico acerca del tipo de correspondencia que definiri¿a el cara¿cter de verdad propio de una obra poe¿tica. Basa¿ndome en la seccio¿n R. 376e9-378e3 defendere¿ que (1), en la concepcio¿n poetolo¿gica de Plato¿n, es factible deslindar conceptualmente dos niveles al interno del discurso literario, a saber, el del `relato¿ o nivel literal (conjunto de elementos narrativos) y el del `nu¿cleo de significacio¿n¿ o nivel no- literal (conjunto de nociones morales contenidas como foco del relato) y que (2), junto a la distincio¿n de niveles, Plato¿n ha identificado tambie¿n el peculiar tipo de correspondencia que existe entre e¿stos para establecer, a partir de alli¿, el valor de la obra literaria considerada en su totalidad.

In this paper I intend, based on section R. 376e9-378e3, to reconstruct the Platonic treatment for correlation that would define the nature of truth that pertains to a poetic work. I will argue that (1) in Plato's poetological conception, it is conceptually possible to disaggregate two levels within literary discourse, namely the 'story' or literal level (set of narrative elements) and the 'core meaning' or non-literal level (set of moral notions contained as the focus of the story) and (2), together with the distinction of levels, Plato has also identified the peculiar type of correlation that exist between them to establish, from there, the value of the literary work as a whole.
