Resumen
Durante el siglo XX el mundo se vio enfrentado a múltiples acontecimientos que redirigieron la historia y las dinámicas políticas globales. Después de las guerras mundiales y de las disputas ideológicas que se desarrollaron de manera transcontinental, la economía también se redefinió dando paso a intensas oleadas de globalización y a la comercialización de bienes y servicios de manera masiva e interconectada. Fenómenos como la privatización y el surgimiento de empresas multinacionales han traído consigo nuevos paradigmas para el desarrollo de las sociedades. Se han dado cambios en las propuestas regulatorias y legislativas, a la vez que la acción de nuevos actores como los medios de comunicación y grupos de interés, dando lugar a problemas o situaciones que directa o indirectamente afectan a las empresas e industrias (Mahon, 2008, p. 496).
