Resumen
In order to study the different existing technologies for thin film coating, this work applies the sol-gel methodology under the dip-coating technique. This technique consists of immersing a substrate in a reservoir containing a liquid coating solution for a given time, and then removing it under established parameters such as speed and extraction time, to create in it a thin layer for improve its characteristics according to the solution to be use. At present the research group GIEN of the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente does not have equipment to carry out coatings using this type of technique, and taking into account that such machinery is not domestically manufactured and is therefore on the market at high acquisition and maintenance costs, is presented in this work the design and construction of a device of low cost that allows to realize coating of materials with the dip-coating technique.
The development consisted of two important phases, the first of mechanical design where the systems of movement transmission, clamping, and structure of the device were selected, designed and manufactured; and the second phase of electronic design where process control and automation were developed. The result of this project is intended for the study of coatings or thin films that are manufactured in the research group GIEN
