Metalex S.A.S is a Colombian company with more than twenty years of experience in the manufacture of bars, Centrifugal hubs and special pieces in gray iron. Which have several centrifugal machines for bushings, but nevertheless, they own a machine for the manufacture of so-called large bushings, these are manufactured in a matrix with the following measurements 294 X 115 [mm], from there they are devastated by means of a mechanized one acquiring an optimal measure and thickness and required that the bushing must have.
This document is to communicate the process by which it has been passed in order to perform the modernization of the gray iron hub centrifuge machine. This objective was achieved through inquiries, monitoring of design methodologies and by analysis such as frequency, thermal, structural, among others. With all the aspects covered we proceed to make the different design alternatives to supply each of the shortcomings that it presents, in order to improve the viability of the process and final quality of the hub.
In addition to considering the staff that manipulates the machine to improve their job security at the time of operating the machine. In order to comply with the objective, SolidWorks software was used in the dynamic simulations part for design improvements, in terms of programming as a practical way, software such as Arduino and Proteus were used. But for industrial purposes the most effective method to use is that corresponding to PLCs more specifically PLC
