The objective of the project was to design a strategy focused on the generation of employment for the entry into the nature tourism market of ex-combatants in the rural area of the municipality of Jamundí (Valle), where initially a characterization of the potential it has the municipality of Jamundí in nature tourism, later a study was made of the profiles of the ex-combatant population to see their possibility of inserting themselves into the nature tourism sector, followed by defining the occupational profile for the nature tourism sector and finally, a model of labor inclusion through nature tourism was proposed to this population.
To characterize the potential of nature tourism in the municipality of Jamundí, a description of the study area was carried out through internet consultation, books, research documents (undergraduate works) and studies of the municipality; Subsequently, the options for the development of this type of tourism were identified based on documentary information obtained from the Mayor of Jamundí-Econciencia. It was concluded that Jamundí has: 24 ecotourism sites, 16 places that offer adventure tourism, four that develop rural and community tourism and six for farm tourism purposes with multiple attractions and tourist products related to nature, among which they stand out: five reserves, seven rivers, forests, farms, three protected areas; in addition to its diverse cultures that can be the input for their economic development.
To determine the current profile of the ex-combatant population and to see their possibility of entering the nature tourism sector, a survey was conducted of a total of 51 ex-combatants, of whom 52.9% are high school graduates, 21 6% have the primary level, but illiteracy continues to exist with 13.7%; This population has a very high level of unemployment, corresponding to 73%, those who manage to be employed only in various trades such as caretakers, cleaners and gardeners (20%) and the remaining 8% have a job. 88.2% of respondents have skills to work in the field and carry out activities related to it. 72.5% say they have knowledge for nature tourism in their coexistence areas, in this case the rural area of Jamundí. The ex-combatants are neither professionals nor technicians, but they do possess skills acquired through experiences as war workers and in the Colombian jungles.
The definition of the occupational profile for the nature tourism sector was made based on the results of a survey applied to twelve experts in the field of nature tourism and an interview with the director of the project, obtaining a positive result and a total cross-sectional relationship with the profiles. of the ex-combatants, of whom 37.3% are willing to work as tour guides, 27.5% in positions of various trades and cleaning services and 25.5% positions related to customer service. Taking into account the above, the profiles, abilities, and physical capacities were defined to focus on nature tourism as a possible solution to unemployment and problems for ex-combatants to become self-sufficient agents and to be able to reintegrate into civilian life through this activity.
The research allowed the creation of a model of labor inclusion through nature tourism to ex-combatants whose name is "The route of hope", which has five components: the first is Healing: (heal and heal the wounds of the soul ), the second is to strengthen being and spirit, the third is to return, the fourth is to undertake (culture of green entrepreneurship) and fifth and last are the results and experiences. This model seeks to provide a solution for the economic and social development of the country, which contributes largely to the reduction of unemployment and to convert ex-combatants into self-sustaining agents for their reintegration into civilian life. For communities it is a very viable strategy, since it is the possibility of making themselves known to the world and what better for their natural wealth, showing and highlighting their native cultures generating economic development of environmental sustainability and community work, all for a common good
