Resumen
This research is a new way to approach the road traffic crash problem. This approach consists of studying different types of urban cyclists and their relationship with the territory as an influencing element in traffic crashes. My analysis is based on Urry´s mobilities paradigm (2007). It is a different way of thinking about mobility, bringing people and their economic, social, and political relations with the city to the center of the analysis. The research started with a social diagnosis of the urban cyclists from the Bosa Locality, followed by proposed recommendations to improve road safety. The methodology used a quantitative perspective, such as reviewing statistical data and a qualitative perspective with a review of sources conducting semi-structured interviews, and ethnography. The results are maps displaying the points where the most traffic crashes happened and variables like sex, age, day of the week, and time of the traffic crashes. I contrasted this information in the field with the help of qualitative instruments. This methodology is an invitation for interdisciplinary work. It contributes to the study of traffic crashes with practical and sustainable solutions in road traffic safety, where technical and social elements are relevant.
