Resumen
The consumption of Psychoactive Substances (ps) in school contexts is a public health problem that requires timely and intersectoral intervention. The objective of this document is to describe the evolution of drug trafficking and use of psychoactive substances in school contexts in the department of Nariño, understanding the complexity of consumption as a problem linked to cultural, geographical and economic aspects, among others. In this order of ideas, from an international and national perspective, the foundations of the history and origin of these substances, their evolution, purposes and uses in different contexts are retaken. Likewise, some economic activities that arise around drug consumption are described, such as the planting of illicit crops, the production and trafficking of these through practices known as drug trafficking and micro-trafficking. Finally, these are related phenomena with ps consumption in school contexts in the department of Nariño. The results allow us to know that, although drugs have been used by various human groups throughout history, the purpose around their consumption has changed. This situation has led certain countries, such as Colombia, to specialize in the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs, with the consequent problems at the political, social and economic level. Specifically, the department of Nariño is one of the most affected by these activities and it is evident how micro-trafficking makes it easier for school children and adolescents to have access to ps, which increases the prevalence of consumption at increasingly younger ages.
