Resumen
In May 2017, around 180 peasant families were evicted from the rural property known as 'El Brasil' in Puerto Gaitán, Meta. The multimedia report Tierra de Nadie denounces the irregularities of the procedure ordered by the Alex Fierro mayor's office and the Puerto Gaitán Police Inspection, despite the request of the Villavicencio attorney Hilmer Fino to stop the eviction. The land of El Brasil has been investigated since 2013 for possible irregular adjudications by Incora to front men of the Carranza family and for being the paramilitary training school of the Self-Defense Forces of the Peasants of Meta and Vichada from which mass graves were exhumed. However, the property was transferred to the meat company La Fazenda, which currently exploits the 16,000 hectares of land for agribusiness. The report also documents the different ways of life and work of the evicted community currently resettled informally in the village of La Cristalina.
