Resumen
From the beginning of adolescence and into adulthood, women are pressed about the importance of using contraceptives and being responsible with their sex life. But is it as easy as we think? In Colombia, the contraceptive pill arrived more than 60 years ago, being a big step for women's sexual liberation and also for the development of other contraceptive methods. What in the beginning was considered a guarantee of sexual and reproductive rights, today falls short of fully guaranteeing the health and emotional, physical and economic well-being of women. Limited access to information, delays in appointments, excessively expensive methods, mistreatment by health personnel, and stigmatization of female sexuality and contraceptive use are just some of the barriers that women in Colombia face when they decide to take contraceptives for the first time.
