Resumen
Perinatal mortality is the most important indicator of infant mortality and its presence is associated with the social, cultural, economic and political characteristics where people, families and communities live. In Colombia, the National Institute of Health reported that for 2018 the late perinatal and neonatal mortality rate was 13 per 1000 live births (2018), a trend that does not show significant changes in relation to 2010 (14 per 1000 live births) (Profamilia, 2015). In Cauca, the figures are worrying, in 2015 the mortality rate was 24 per 1000 live births, exceeding the national rate, maintaining growth since 2010 (Profamilia, 2015). The purpose of this study was to design a comprehensive action strategy that would support the management of the health process with a view to reducing perinatal mortality in Cauca from an intercultural approach, taking as a reference sociodemographic analysis and clinical aspects of perinatal mortality in Cauca during the years 2010 to 2018 as well as the analysis of the field studies carried out in a municipality of the Department of Cauca during 2016 to 2018. As a result, a comprehensive intercultural strategy structured by stages was proposed: preconception, conception, delivery and postpartum, with a approach to health promotion, disease prevention and risk management that define the development of actions from different health lines to favor the reduction of perinatal mortality in Cauca.
