Resumen
This paper provides a critical approach to the Museo Memoria y Tolerancia (MMyT, Museum of Memory and Tolerancia) in Mexico City, Mexico, by presenting the historical content and museological proposal of the museum as well as by depicting the experience of the average visitor-. In order to give a complete picture of Mexico City's memorial museums, this research explores -as counterweights to the MMyT- the Memorial del 68 del Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco-, Universidad Autónoma de México, (M68, CCUT, UNAM, The Memorial Museum of the University Cultural Centre Tlatelolco, National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico) y el Museo Casa de la Memoria Indómita (MCMI, The Museum House of Untamed Memory, Mexico). This CHRONICLE is the result of ethnographic research conducted by the authors while they visited the three museums mentioned during the first semester of 2014.
