Resumen
Introduction: SARS CoV2 disease is highly contagious and has been negatively impacting the world with clinical manifestations and damage to various systems of the human body, the most affected ther respiratory system, kidney, heart, digestive tract and nervous system; Various studies establish the relationship between acute kidney injury and a worse prognosis of patients, as well as an indicator of mortality, so it is considered that renal involvement could have a high impact in general survival and prognosis of patients with SARS CoV2 infection. Objective: To determine the association of acute kidney injury in the mortality of patients with SARS CoV2 infection. Materials and Methods: Cohort study, analytical objective, longitudinal retrospective, where acute kidney injury (AKI) is established as an exposure factor, defining the cohorts considered to determine the association of this outcome. The mortality of critically ill patients with SARS CoV2 infection in a university Hospital Fundación Clínica Shaio. Results and Conclusions: From 203 patients hospitalized in ICU with SARS COV2 infection, AKI occurred in 124 patients (61%), 30.9% of patients with AKI needed intermittent hemodialysis, 12.7% continuous renal therapies and other therapies such as ECMO 1.8%, of which 69.4% died, the most frequent presentation AKI KDIGO 3 (52.3%). AKI increases the mortality of critically ill patients by 2.27 (95% CI; 1.68 – 3.07) times.
